Department of the Navy Hosting Forum to Explore Housing Privatization

San Diego — The Department of the Navy (DoN) is exploring options to privatize their lodging portfolio, which includes approximately 21,000 rooms at 59 installations in the continental United States, Hawaii and Guam. The envisioned program would be executed in phases and would utilize the Alternative Authority for Acquisition and Improvement of Military Housing legislation, P.L. 104-106 Stat 186 Section 2801 (10 U.S.C. 2871-2885).  To support this effort, DoN is hosting an Industry Forum and requesting industry ideas using a Request for Information (RFI).

The Industry Forum on Thursday April 24, 2019 will be held at Wyndham San Diego Bayside from 7:30 AM to 11:15 AM. The option to tour several DoN lodging facilities will follow in the afternoon from 12:15 PM to approximately 5:45 PM.  To attend, RSVP no later than Thursday, April 18, 2019.

Representatives from the DoN will present information concerning initial program concept, inventory characteristics for Navy Gateway Inns and Suites, Navy Lodge, Marine Corps Transient Lodging, and Inns of the Corps, procurement strategies and development scenarios during the morning event.  The morning session includes time for open discussion regarding the feasibility of the initial concept, industry best practices, and any questions, concerns or comments related to the information presented.

The DoN has released a Lodging Privatization RFI which includes official notice of the Industry Forum and is available on the FedBizOpps website at https://www.fbo.gov/spg/DON/NAVFAC/N62470RE/N6247019LODGE/listing.html.

This Industry Forum and RFI will be open to all interested parties.  Details for registration will be included in the RFI.
