COWI North America welcomes new Head of Section John Westphal

COWI North America, Inc. (COWI) is excited to have John Westphal, P.E., on board! John recently joined COWI in North America as a Head of Section/Associate Project Director to support our rapidly growing Southeast Transportation team.

John brings with him over 18 years of experience in engineering design, construction, contract administration, and construction materials testing. He is adept at dispute resolution as well as in operating in complex project environments including Design-Build and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, ranging from multi-million to multi-billion-dollar contract values.

Thriving on the novel and unique, John continually exemplifies a willing spirit to undertake challenging assignments in his career. As an experienced leader, he is adept at resolving issues through the facilitation and implementation of multidisciplinary, team-based approaches.

Most recently and besides being Florida Transportation Lead/Senior Project Manager for S&ME, Inc., he managed the Construction Structures Section of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Office of Construction.

As Head of Section/Associate Project Director of COWI NA Operations Southeast, John engages and develops COWI staff and generates business opportunities in the Southeast region. By working closely with John, we will continue to accelerate our mission towards delivering much-needed sustainable infrastructure solutions for our customers in the Southeast Region and growing our business in Florida, the third most populous state in the US.
