CH2M HILL employees raise record $250,000 for Water For People

Denver — CH2M HILL employees dug deep into their hearts and wallets to overfill the coffers and donate $250,276 to Water For People during the company’s annual Workplace Giving Campaign, the largest amount ever raised for Water For People through a single corporate employee campaign, surpassing the company's previous record of $231,000.

Contributions to the quarter-million-dollar donation came from 21 countries on six continents, demonstrating CH2M HILL’s global commitment to safe, clean drinking water for everyone, forever.

Water For People, which strives to #ChangeThat by providing clean water for every family, every school and every clinic in the regions it serves, is one of CH2M HILL’s most significant community partners, says Greg McIntyre, president of CH2M HILL’s Water market and an executive sponsor of the workplace giving campaign.

“Our firm shares a very important vision with Water For People … a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation; a world where no one suffers or dies from a water or sanitation-related disease,” McIntyre says. “I am humbled by our employees’ generosity. Their amazing support of Water For People demonstrates how much they care about others throughout the world.”

Water For People is a non-profit organization based in Denver, whose mission is to facilitate the development of clean water, improved sanitation and health and hygiene educations in nine countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Employee-owned CH2M HILL is a global leader in consulting, design, design-build, operations and program management. The company has supported Water For People since its founding more than 20 years ago and became the first company to raise $1.5 million in all-time workplace giving campaign donations last year. CH2M HILL has hosted a campaign since 2003.

This year, employees from 21 countries at 169 project and office locations donated through payroll deduction, online and through office events that included a soccer tournament, silent auction, walk for water, brown bag presentation and penny jars. The donation total is made up entirely of employee giving; it does not include corporate donations, sponsorships, in-kind donations or volunteer time. Beyond the financial support, during the past four years, several CH2M HILL employees have volunteered their expertise on Water For People World Water Corps trips.
