Case Engineering Completes Challenging Structural Design on New Park North Golf Club in Edwardsville, IL

St. Louis, MO – Case Engineering’s Structural team collaborated with Plocher Construction of Highland, IL to build the new Park North Golf Club, which opened on July 12, 2025 in Edwardsville, IL.

The premier golf entertainment complex, located at 3601 Sports Park Drive on the north side of Plummer Family Park, features 40 climate-controlled driving range bays, an 18-hole championship putting green, full-service restaurant and bar, private event spaces and outdoor patio and seating. The state-of-the-art range is powered by TrackMan technology which measures the golfer’s swing and the ball’s trajectory and landing.

Case provided structural engineering on the 20,000 sq ft, two-level facility, which included designing steel and wood structures to support the building’s engineered tilt-up wall panels designed by St. Charles, MO-based Knapp Engineering.

Wood trusses were used for the building’s roof structure over the restaurant/bar and gathering spaces, while steel moment frames were used to support the building’s second floor and roof level which allowed the structure to cantilever into the covered, double deck driving range.

“We worked closely with the architect Lance McOlgan and the contractor to ensure the steel structure was able to accommodate the complex loading while still providing the clearances needed to ensure there would be plenty of room for the guests to swing away,” said Case Engineering Principal/Senior Structural Engineer Kyle Linenfelser, PE, SE.

An official groundbreaking marking the start of construction on the year-long project was held on Aug. 19, 2024. The development team included a group of local investors, with Bob Timmermann as the venue’s managing partner.
