Gathering a diverse team of judges, including contractors, construction business owners, tradesmen, and media professionals, the votes were counted for the most innovative construction and outdoor power equipment industry products in the world. Judging the 10th annual PTIA Awards exposed revealed an amazing array of truly innovative power and hand tools, tool accessories, fasteners, and other products submitted by many of the top manufacturers in the industry.

“Any product can undergo incremental changes. Pro Tool Innovation Award winners and finalists tend to buck trends and bring much more to the table,” said Kenny Koehler, editor-in-chief. “They really deserve the recognition they get. We feel that business owners, builders, contractors, and tradespeople can look to PTIA Award-winners to locate the products that can increase productivity, help them make more money, and increase safety on the jobsite.”

After countless hours of considering several hundred of the most innovative power tools, hand tools, fasteners, products, and accessories on the market, the PTIA judges eventually chose winners and finalists based on a combination of key factors. Products won based on their ability to demonstrate either innovative features, advanced power delivery, groundbreaking ergonomics, technological advancements, advancements in jobsite safety, or above-average value. Each year we continue seeing more and more innovation from both large and small companies that manufacture tools, accessories, fasteners, and other products you might find on construction sites, on a landscape professional’s trailer, or simply around the home,” said Clint DeBoer, Executive Director of the Pro Tool Innovation Awards. “The constant striving we see from manufacturers and product managers who seek to innovate each and every year is quite humbling.”

2022 saw the leaders in innovation continuing to make great strides in battery-powered technology as more gas products in particular migrated to battery power. Many of the latest award-winning products showed a high increase in efficiency, bolstered safety, and/or increased jobsite productivity. The PTIA Awards continue to serve as a popular place for professionals and consumers looking for never-before-seen products that push the boundaries.
