BonTerra Consulting joins Psomas

LOS ANGELES — Southern California environmental planning and resource management consulting firm BonTerra Consulting has joined Psomas, an engineering consulting firm with offices across the Western United States. The merger provides clients of both firms with a wider breadth and depth of environmental services.

According to Blake Murillo, Psomas CEO, “BonTerra is recognized as one of the most experienced teams of environmental professionals in California. Mergers have been part of our strategic growth plan for over 10 years so this is an exciting and positive move for us. It enables us to expand our services in the pre-construction phases of project planning, impact assessment, and natural and cultural resources evaluation.”

With the addition of BonTerra, Psomas’ environmental expertise is firmly established by adding major services such as environmental documentation pursuant to state (CEQA) and federal (NEPA) environmental quality acts, in addition to substantially augmenting the firm’s biological, regulatory, and habitat restoration services. The merger also adds offerings such as aquatic and fisheries; air quality and noise; and archaeological studies.

Since the two firms have worked together on projects for many years, the merger will further create a seamless relationship that will benefit both firms’ clients. Joan Patronite Kelly, AICP, Managing Principal of BonTerra, adds, “We are really pleased about the opportunities this merger presents to our staff and clients. The combination of the two firms offers our existing clients a much wider array of services under one roof.”
