Best Complete Streets policies named

Washington, D.C. — The National Complete Streets Coalition released The Best Complete Streets Policies of 2015, highlighting Complete Streets policies from across the country last year, including the 16 policies that were the nation’s best. Those communities were:

  1. Reading, Pa.
  2. West Hartford, Conn.
  3. Park Forest, Ill. (tie); South Bend, Ind. (tie); Longmeadow, Mass. (tie)
  4. Weymouth, Mass.
  5. Omaha, Neb.
  6. Vincennes, Ind.
  7. Ashland, Mass. (tie); Natick, Mass. (tie); Norwell, Mass. (tie)
  8. Little Rock, Ark.
  9. Framingman, Mass. (tie); Lynn, Mass. (tie); Portage, Mich. (tie)
  10. Battle Ground, Wash.

These rankings celebrate exceptional policy work and provide leaders at all levels of government with ideas for how to make streets safer, healthier, and more convenient for everyone.

Nationwide, a total of 899 Complete Streets policies are now in place, in all 50 states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.
