Brett Krouskop, PE, SE, has been promoted to director of the Computer-Assisted Design (CAD) / Building Information Modeling (BIM) Solution Center for Barge Design Solutions, Inc.

Krouskop, who joined Barge’s Dayton, OH, office in 1991, has more than 32 years of structural engineering experience. He most recently served as a senior structural engineer where he was responsible for design of projects for commercial, governmental, and industrial clients across the southeastern and midwestern U.S. and beyond.

“Throughout my career, I’ve always been passionate about utilizing technology in innovative ways to improve the design process,” said Krouskop. “I’m honored to lead the CAD/BIM Solution Center as we bring together the skills and experience of staff from across the firm to advance our digital design capabilities.”

Barge’s CAD/BIM team will serve as a dedicated resource to all the company’s solutions centers, working on civil, architectural, structural, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP), and interior design projects for clients across all markets and sectors.

“Brett brings a unique perspective of having real experience with nearly every aspect of our diverse business, as well as a proven track record of leveraging the latest technology to deliver solutions for our clients,” said Steve Edwards, Solution Centers Director of Operations. “Barge has many talented CAD/BIM professionals, and I’m confident that we’ll become even stronger in this area with Brett at the helm.”

Krouskop earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati. His credentials include, registered Professional Engineer (PE; 10 states), licensed Structural Engineer (SE; two states), Revit Certified Professional, and Bluebeam Certified Professional. Krouskop is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Institute of Steel Construction. During his time with Barge, he was selected to complete our internal leadership training program in 2014 and received the Jack L. Wood Excellence in Service Award, one of the firm’s most prestigious honors, in 2008.
