Atlanta structural engineering firm celebrates 50th anniversary

ATLANTA – Moe Bennett and Rex Pless celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Bennett & Pless, Inc., with their clients, friends and staff at the Atlanta Athletic Club on Feb. 20. Over 100 guests were in attendance to celebrate and were treated to a display of the 100s of prominent buildings the firm designed in Atlanta as well as across the country.

Some of the more notable buildings in Atlanta included: The Atlanta Financial Center, Colony Square, Embassy Suites at Centennial Park and Cobb Galleria.

Mr. Edward A. Gazzola, P.Eng., who recently joined Bennett & Pless as its new CEO and co-owner commented, “I am honored to have the responsibility to maintain the firm’s reputation for structural engineering excellence and exceptional customer service, and look forward to expanding the firm’s status as one of the preeminent consulting structural engineering firms in the country.”

Mr. Bennett has retired and Mr. Pless remains active in the business as the firm’s COO and co-owner. Mr. Pless thanked the many clients at the event and stated “he sincerely appreciated their many years of loyalty, some of whom he acknowledged have been clients for all 50 years, and that he was humbled by the positive feedback”. He went on to comment that “he was excited about the future of the firm under Mr. Gazzola’s leadership and that the business was fortunate to have such a highly experienced engineering executive leading the firm.”
