ASTM International Symposium on Ultra-High Performance Concrete

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, PA. — A symposium on Ultra-High Performance Concrete will be held Dec. 8, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Jacksonville, Fla. Sponsored by ASTM International Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, the symposium will be held in conjunction with the December standards development meetings of the committee.

Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) is rapidly entering the construction market, yet there is no commonly accepted definition of the material, or nationally accepted test methods for material performance or production standards. The purpose of this symposium is to provide a forum to discuss where current ASTM test methods for concrete are inadequate for UHPC, proposed new tests for UHPC, and to exchange ideas as to where new tests need to be developed.

This symposium is appropriate for:
• Producers of UHPC, engineers/designers, product manufacturers and owners who recognize the need for UHPC industry testing standards; and
• ASTM members who will vote on proposed ASTM test methods for UHPC so they can gain perspective on the challenges of developing testing methods for implementation.

Online registration will open approximately eight weeks before the symposium. Visit www.astm.org/C09Symp12-8-2013 for online registration and additional information.
