ARTBA seeks nominations for innovative transportation programs

Washington, D.C. — The American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) is now accepting nominations for the “Dr. J. Don Brock TransOvation Awards.” The annual competition “promotes and recognizes innovations that make our transportation infrastructure network the best it can be in serving those who pay for it, use it and rely upon it.”

Nominations should be innovative transportation infrastructure-related products, services, technologies and/or techniques that can be documented to provide a high return-on-investment by:

  • Improving transportation safety;
  • Saving transportation users and taxpayers time and/or money; and
  • Making our transportation infrastructure more environmentally sustainable.

ARTBA membership is not required. Online submission is available at www.artbatdf.org and must be received by close of business August 29. Contact ARTBA’s Kashae Williams at 202-289-4434 or kwilliams@artba.org with questions.

The winners will be recognized at a special November 17 luncheon held in conjunction with the annual “Dr. J. Don Brock TransOvation Workshop” at Microsoft Headquarters in Redmond, Wash. The workshop, named after the founder of Astec Industries, is the transportation design and construction industry’s only interactive learning event focused on fostering innovation and recognizing industry innovators.
