Aron Kirsch Joins WSP USA to Integrate Transportation with Urban Development

Newly appointed vice president brings expertise in major multi-disciplinary projects to new U.S. leadership role at WSP USA.

NEW YORK — Aron Kirsch has joined WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, as vice president and national program manager for urban development.

Kirsch will lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering development projects integrated with major transportation facilities. As an executive project manager for urban development, he will manage client relationships and provide technical leadership for planning, environmental documentation, design, construction and cost estimating.

“Aron brings to WSP a tremendous background managing large development projects in New York and an understanding of the complex issues when projects involve both transportation and urban development,” said David Earley, WSP director of strategic planning and development, U.S. Transportation. “Clients for these challenging projects will benefit from the breadth of his experience, and our teams will grow through his leadership, collaboration and commitment to delivering high-quality work that is both on time and on budget.”

WSP USA provides design, management and delivery of urban development and transportation projects across the U.S. Some examples include:

  • Related Companies’ Hudson Yards Development, a 26-acre, residential, office and retail project in Manhattan near infrastructure improvements such as the No. 7 Subway Extension.
  • Chicago’s One Central, a 35-acre mixed-use project with a new multi-modal transportation complex featuring residential and commercial high-rise buildings in Chicago’s Near South Side neighborhood and a Chicago Transit Authority transit center; and
  • Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco, a five-story building featuring underground train platforms, a grand hall, commercial space, bus deck, and a 5.4-acre park on the top floor.

Prior to joining WSP, Kirsch was a senior vice president for development and construction at a New York-based real estate development firm. He oversaw the design and construction of five large residential projects and the design of more than two million square feet of Class A office space.

Kirsch previously worked at the Hudson Yards Development Corporation, where he led the design and construction of New York City’s $3 billion Hudson Yards project. He is also a former city planner and project manager for the New York City Department of City Planning.

Kirsch is a graduate of Clark University with a bachelor’s degree in geography; and the University of Massachusetts with a master’s degree in urban and regional planning.
