AEC TECH NEWS: Newforma Connector initiative expands access to project information

Manchester, N.H. — Newforma, a project information management (PIM) software company, announced its Newforma Cloud Services Connector strategy, an initiative that integrates the company’s recently announced Newforma Cloud Services with complimentary applications used by its architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) customers. Through its Connector initiative, Newforma is adopting an open platform approach to its new Cloud Services platform and enabling customers to access and interact with information across selected leading applications, maximizing technology investments while improving the management of project information. The first connectors to be published will extend the benefits of Newforma’s project information management capabilities to users of Plangrid, Box and Dropbox, with more following quickly.

Newforma has always taken a neutral “Switzerland” approach to managing project information, regardless of the source authoring software. Now, the Newforma Connector initiative further unlocks the potential of project teams by overcoming technical constraints created by silos of critical project information hosted on various software solutions. To demonstrate the powerful benefits of these new Newforma Connectors:

• Plangrid customers will have seamless collaboration with Newforma Cloud Services with real time sharing of project files from the field during the construction phase.
• Newforma customers that use popular file sharing platforms such as Box and Dropbox will be able to better leverage this information by maintaining a full audit trail through the project lifecycle.
