AEC management firms achieve CMAA Project Achievement Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. — McKissack & McKissack and joint venture partner, Brailsford & Dunlavey, Inc., have received two Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) 2010 Project Achievement Awards for the National Capital Chapter. The joint venture, DC Partners for the Revitalization of Education Projects, LLC (DC PEP), was recognized for two projects with construction values less than $30 million and $100 million, respectively.

DC PEP was recognized for its work on Stoddert Elementary School and Eastern High School, both in Washington, D.C., and part of the $2.5 billion planned renovation and construction project for the public school facilities operated by the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), one of the largest school modernization programs in the country.

DC PEP manages the construction, renovation, and stabilization of the DCPS facilities. The program’s commitment is to fully modernize all 123 elementary, middle, and high school buildings and related administrative and support facilities, resulting in more than 12 million square feet of newly constructed or renovated space.

Submissions for this year’s CMAA Project Achievement Awards included a variety of projects that represented work throughout the National Capital Chapter area. After reviewing submissions, the committee awarded firms in categories corresponding to project construction values.
