Steven Reynolds Joins Original Survey Solutions as VP of Civil Engineering

Veteran Engineer Brings Vision, Values and a Track Record of Results

Steven Reynolds isn’t just stepping into a new role— he’s helping shape the future of one of the West’s fastest-growing land surveying and civil engineering firms. Reynolds has joined Original Survey Solutions (OSS) as Vice President of Civil Engineering, bringing with him nearly two decades of experience, a passion for problem-solving and a leadership style grounded in integrity and mentorship.

“I’ve worked with a lot of talented engineers over the years, but Steve stands out,” says OSS President and founder Will Paul. “He’s calm under pressure, sharp on the details and always looking out for the best interests of his clients and his team. When the chance came to bring him on board, we didn’t hesitate. We didn’t add civil engineering services just to grow— we did it because we found the right person to lead it.”

Reynolds has played a central role in some of the most high-profile and technically complex projects in the region, including major commercial, educational, life sciences and government properties. His portfolio includes projects for Stanford University, Lockheed Martin, Oracle, SLAC National Accelerator Center, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Gilead Life Sciences. Reynolds’ expertise spans grading and stormwater design, utility systems, roadway and site layout, and construction-phase support, and he is known for translating complex challenges into clear, buildable solutions.

But for Reynolds, it’s not just about technical chops. “After talking with Will and the leadership team, it was clear this was a different kind of firm,” says Reynolds. “OSS is growing fast, but doing it the right way— by investing in people, staying grounded in values and focusing on clients first. That’s the kind of culture I want to be part of.”

Reynolds says he was drawn to OSS’s emphasis on mentorship and innovation, along with its commitment to simplifying the building process for clients. In his new role, he will build the civil engineering group from the ground up— integrating with other disciplines and helping OSS deliver more complete and even more efficient project solutions.

“OSS has built an incredible foundation in a short amount of time,” says Reynolds. “Now we’re ready to take it further. I’m excited to help shape a practice that’s not just technically strong, but deeply aligned with our clients’ needs and our team’s values.”

Reynolds is a licensed professional engineer who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He’s based in the firm’s San Francisco Bay Area office in Dublin, California.
