Develon and Leica Geosystems launch seamlessly integrated 3D machine guidance system for excavators

Develon and Leica Geosystems collaborate to deliver seamless integration of 3D machine guidance systems for excavators.

Munich, Germany – Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, and Develon, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, today announced the launch of the Leica MC1 3D machine guidance system as a retrofit option for their latest excavator models. This system is specifically designed to integrate seamlessly with Develon’s existing 2D sensors and calibration systems.

Machine guidance technology significantly advances jobsite efficiency by providing operators with improved accuracy and control. This ensures that excavation projects are carried out with greater precision, aligning perfectly with the reference model. Thanks to the continuous collaboration between Leica Geosystems and Develon, the Leica MC1 3D machine guidance system is designed to integrate seamlessly with Develon’s existing 2D system on the latest excavator models. As a result, customers can upgrade their equipment without facing compatibility issues, ensuring a smooth transition to 3D technology.

“By incorporating the latest in machine control technology, Develon demonstrates its ongoing commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. This partnership with Leica Geosystems underscores Develon’s dedication to meeting the evolving needs of the construction industry,” says Stephane Dieu, Product Manager for Develon in Europe.

“We are delighted to introduce the Leica MC1 3D retrofit solution, tailored specifically for Develon’s new excavators,” says Neil Williams, President of the Machine Control Division at Leica Geosystems. “With an efficient installation and calibration process, we are paving the way for a swift transition to operational readiness in 3D machine control.”
