C.W. Driver Companies Breaks Ground on the Beaumont Carnegie Library Renovation & 9,100 Square-Foot Expansion

Historic library to undergo a transformative renovation and expansion, preserving its legacy while enhancing community resources

Beaumont, Calif – C.W. Driver Companies, a leading name in California’s construction industry, proudly announces the groundbreaking of the $15 million Beaumont Carnegie Library renovation and expansion project. Originally built in 1914, the historic library will be modernized to meet seismic, accessibility, and safety standards while incorporating a new 9,100-square-foot addition that will enhance services and resources for the growing Beaumont community.

Located at 125 East 8th Street in Beaumont, California, the project will be completed in two phases to ensure the library remains accessible during construction. Phase one will focus on site preparation, including the demolition of adjacent structures, the construction of the new addition, and the development of a south parking lot. Phase two will encompass a full renovation of the original library, integration with the expansion, and the completion of an east parking lot. When completed in 2026, the revitalized 20,700-square-foot facility will provide modernized reading spaces, upgraded technology, and expanded programming areas.

“The Beaumont Carnegie Library has been a pillar of this community for over a century, and we are honored to help preserve its history while expanding its impact,” said Tom Jones, project executive C.W. Driver Companies. “This project is a testament to the city’s dedication to education and community engagement, and we’re excited to bring this vision to life.”

City officials and library representatives joined C.W. Driver Companies at the groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of this significant project. Luren Dickinson, Director Emeritus, City of Beaumont shared, “This library has been a cornerstone of the Beaumont community for generations, and its transformation reflects our commitment to providing modern, accessible, and dynamic spaces for our residents.
