Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions highlights Bredel Hose Pumps at Battery Show 2024

Visit booth 4155 for pump solutions for lithium-ion battery production

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) highlights its range of pumps ideal for a variety of manufacturing processes used in producing lithium-ion batteries at the 2024 Battery Show. The show will take place October 7-10 at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan. Visit the WMFTS stand to learn how Bredel hose pumpsQdos chemical metering pumps, and Aflex hoses can bring benefits to customers in the battery technology industry.

Booth 4155 will feature Bredel hose pumps and Bredel APEX products, both of which provide constant production cycle efficiency and help manufacturers meet ever-more demanding battery production schedules. Visitors will also get a preview of WMFTS’ newest innovation, the Bredel C42 close-coupled pump, with access to literature and a video demonstrating the pump.

Bredel hose pumps are ideal for use in the ball milling process used in manufacturing lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. Unlike older air-operated double-diaphragm pump (AODD) pump technology, Bredel hose pumps are not affected by slurry viscosity, which ensures greater production cycle efficiency. The pumps run at 20 revolutions per minute in continuous 24/7 operation as part of a computer-controlled process. The Bredel pump also reduces wear to the ball/seats that can result in leakage, causing increased downtime and repair costs. Suitable for transferring liquid chemicals from raw material tanks to reaction tanks at stable flow rates for, Bredel APEX hose pumps are ideal in the production of battery-grade cobalt tetroxide and high-purity battery-grade cobalt sulphate. The pumps are designed to operate 24 hours for seven to ten day periods and are supplied with optimum hose elements. With their seal-less, valve-less design, APEX pumps are engineered for a more competitive price/performance ratio in comparison with high-pressure hose pumps and are designed to suit all dosing, metering and transfer applications with unmatched flow stability.

The soon to be available Bredel C42 close-coupled pump evolved from the original Bredel series. This new pump is specifically engineered for lower pressure applications up to 72.5psi and is designed for general fluid transfer applications including battery applications.

Outside of Bredel, visitors to the booth can explore the Qdos range of peristaltic chemical metering and dosing pumps, which cut costs through higher precision metering, with an accuracy of ±1 % and repeatability of ±0.5 % in dosing.

Also on display, WMFTS’ line of Aflex hoses offers excellent chemical resistance as they are lined with PTFE. This is critical for the demands of battery processing.

Attendees of the Battery Show can visit 4155 to see WMFTS’ pump solutions in action and speak with the experts.
