Panel of Sustainable Building Experts to Deliver “Scaling to Zero” Webinar by REHAU

Scaling to Zero A panel discussion hosted by REHAU

Event will explore how building mechanical teams are moving toward a zero-energy future

WHO: Sustainable building panelists:

Cindy Cogil, PE, LEED AP BD+C, principal and director of engineering in SmithGroup’s Chicago office. As a mechanical engineer with more than 20 years of experience, Cogil specializes in high-performance building design, higher education and integrated master planning. She is vice chair of the Industrial Professional Advisory Council of the Department of Architectural Engineering at Penn State, a member of the Sustainable MEP Leaders Peer Network and a past president-elect for ASHRAE’s National Capital Chapter.

Cathy Higgins, research director at New Buildings Institute. With more than 25 years in energy efficiency strategic planning, research, policy and large-scale project management, Higgins has vast experience with zero-energy buildings. She frequently shares findings on building and market trends nationally through conferences, webinars and meetings with practitioners, program staff and policy makers. Recently she supported the New York Getting to Zero study, a California zero-energy emerging technologies gap analysis and a radiant cooling and heating systems energy use analysis with University of California, Berkeley.

Adrienne Johnson, associate engineer at Point Energy Innovations. As one of Engineered Systems “20 to Watch: Women in HVAC,” Adrienne leverages her mechanical design and energy analysis expertise to ensure the success and affordability of zero-net energy and high-performance buildings. She is co-author of her firm’s Carbon Neutral Buildings Study for the University of California. Prior to joining PEI, she managed the design and construction of the Parkwood Tech Centre, a ZNE community building in Cape Town. Adrienne holds a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University.
