Menard USA Gains More Ground in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH – July 22, 2020 – Pittsburgh-based ground improvement specialists Menard Group USA recently completed work for The Vision on Fifteenth Building in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District. The 8-story, 232,000 square-foot building includes office and retail space with a parking garage for Developers Burns & Scalo Real Estate & RDC Design + Build.

Menard crews have provided ground improvement for Strip District projects for nearly a decade, beginning with the Lot 24 Apartments in 2012. The first garage for the 3 Crossings Development, “The Hub”, was completed in 2016 with Carl Walker Construction. In 2019 Menard installed Rigid Inclusions (an innovative solution that increases stability in highly compressible soils with virtually no spoil) for the 1600 Smallman Street Garage for PJ Dick and Developer McCaffery Interests for the ongoing Produce Terminal Project.

A second garage for the 3 Crossings Development project, owned by Oxford Development Company, is expected to commence in the fall. It will also be supported by Menard.

“This will be the fourth parking garage in the Strip District that we will be supporting on CMC Rigid Inclusions,” said Miranda Slomkowski, Regional Sales Manager, Menard Group USA.  “We are excited to be part of this vibrant  city.”

In April, Menard completed work in  East Liberty, where Rigid Inclusions were installed to support Bakery Square REFRESH’s new conservatory addition. The project was another in a long line of ground improvement work performed by Menard in Pittsburgh and its suburbs.
