FREESE AND NICHOLS ADDS STORMWATER DESIGN MANAGER DANE SCHNEIDER

HOUSTON – April 7, 2020 – Freese and Nichols, Inc., has expanded its Southeast Texas team with Stormwater Design Manager Dane Schneider, PE, ENV SP, a water resources engineer with extensive experience leading flood control, resilience and restoration projects in the region.

Schneider will focus on stormwater design projects for municipalities and other public sector clients across the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area. Over the course of 28 years, he has led capital improvement projects involving flood control infrastructure and drainage for major roadways and neighborhoods. His experience includes disaster recovery projects for the Harris County Flood Control District.

Schneider also spent a decade as managing engineer for the City of Houston, leading delivery of more than $100 million in CIP stormwater projects. And he has overseen drainage improvement and flood risk reduction projects funded through the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Relief program.

“Dane’s experience in stormwater design and disaster recovery, plus his insight into the challenges that cities and other public agencies face, will give us even more depth for helping clients build resilient flood control systems to protect the region,” said Mike Reedy, Freese and Nichols’ Water Resource Planning/Stormwater Group Manager in Houston.

Schneider is a Licensed Professional Engineer and an Envision Sustainability Professional. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from Texas A&M University.

He’s a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure and the Bayou Preservation Association.
