Important WIFIA Program Announces

Administrator Wheeler (L) joins Governor Eric Holcomb (R) at the Indiana State House to announce a $436 million WIFIA loan to the Indiana Finance Authority.

WIFIA Program Closes $436 Million Loan to Indiana Finance Authority
On October 9, 2019, EPA announced a WIFIA loan to the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA) to finance 23 wastewater and drinking water projects across the state. This loan marks the first time EPA has provided WIFIA financing directly to a State Revolving Fund (SRF) program.
Drinking water projects will improve water treatment plants, storage tanks, distribution system components, wells, and pump stations, constructing resiliency features, and implementing water conservation measures. Wastewater projects will improve and increase capacity of wastewater treatment plants, tunnels to capture combined sewer overflows, and collection systems. As a result, Indiana residents will have less untreated wastewater and nutrients entering waterways and more potable water available.
