Hyatt Centric Hotel Tops Out in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA – The Harman Group (THG), a firm specializing in structural engineering and parking planning and design, is proud to announce Hyatt Centric Hotel, a 175,000 square-foot, 13-story hotel in Philadelphia, celebrated its topping out milestone on August 1, 2019. Located at the corner of Chancellor and 17th Street, this will be the first Hyatt Centric in Philadelphia.

The Harman Group provided structural engineering for the project, in partnership with developer, Hyatt, and architect, DAS Architects.

Hyatt Centric features 332 guest rooms and 40 spacious and modern executive suites, meeting space, retail shops, restaurants, an outdoor terrace for guests and one level of underground parking with stackers. The steel structure is optimized for limited depth by Girder-Slab D-beams.

“The Harman Group’s extensive experience with hospitality projects allowed us to design a hotel that will be a destination for both Philadelphia residents and visitors alike,” said Lea Cosenza, Associate, Project Manager at The Harman Group. “We’re proud to partner with Hyatt and DAS Architects to share this exciting milestone and place the last beam on top of the building.”

The Harman Group’s expertise has contributed to a number of hospitality projects that have expanded Philadelphia’s skyline, including the Cambria Hotel and Suites and the Lowes Hotel.
