Rick Engineering to provide planning and consulting services for City of Murrietas Downtown Village Area

Murrieta, Calif. — Rick Engineering Company (RICK) was recently awarded a contract to provide planning and consulting services for the Downtown Village Area Plan (Area Plan) by the City of Murrieta. Under the contract, RICK’s multi-disciplinary Community Planning and Sustainable Development Division will help the city realize its vision for downtown including zoning district options, plan development and economic analysis. To do this, RICK will conduct extensive public outreach and identify potential opportunities and constraints within the Area Plan.

“We have been actively involved with the City of Murrieta on various projects and are excited to be collaborating with the city and community in the vision for the Downtown Village Area,” said Brian Mooney FAICP, RICK Community Planning and Sustainable Design Principal.

Once the Area Plan is complete, the City of Murrieta will begin to create a thriving new downtown village area, which could include civic/cultural centers, retail shops and restaurants, entertainment, medical and professional offices, as well as residential and lodging accommodations.
