PennDOT selects TRC for statewide construction inspection services

Lowell, Mass. — TRC Companies, Inc. was awarded a five-year, $19.8 million contract by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to provide construction inspection services for precast and prestressed concrete products used on roadway and bridge projects across the state. The work will support the inspection of new structures being installed to replace and upgrade aging infrastructure systems throughout Pennsylvania.

"This award extends our 25-year relationship with PennDOT, and we are pleased to continue our role in support of important infrastructure upgrade projects across the state," said Scott Gallaher, P.G., Principal of Construction Engineering and Inspection Services for TRC. "These efforts will help to address structurally deficient bridges throughout Pennsylvania, greatly enhancing the safety and quality of the state's highway system."

The project will include fabrication shop inspection by a staff of approximately 22 highly specialized TRC construction inspectors with expertise in prefabricated concrete. Specific items that will receive regular inspection include drainage elements, median barriers, earth retaining walls, bridge superstructures, pre-stress beams, large special design pipes and various other items. TRC will also support PennDOT with specification writing, technical analytics and program consultation.
