Industry veteran Jay Shah joins Sigma as president

Detroit –– Detroit-based Sigma, a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, announced that engineering and industry leader Jay Shah has joined the company as the president. A proven leader with a track record of successfully scaling businesses, Shah will be responsible for executing on the firm’s strategic plan including corporate development, innovation and business growth. He brings more than 40 years of leadership, strategic planning, operations, local, state and federal agency coordination, and program management experience and expertise.

Prior to joining Sigma, Shah served in several high-level executive roles within the industry including president and chairman of a large engineering and consulting firm.  In his previous roles, he was instrumental in leading large teams, identifying and creating new lines of business, developing and expanding markets and driving operational efficiencies and quality control.  Shah has experience in all areas of engineering and infrastructure consulting and management including complex water/wastewater, transportation, and environmental programs.

Shah earned his Master of Science degree in civil engineering, environmental and structural engineering from Wayne State University and an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Detroit.

Shah is a respected industry leader, published author and frequent speaker on timely local, regional and national engineering and infrastructure topics. He currently serves as Chairman of the Oakland County Building Authority, and as a Director of the Oakland County Economic Development Corporation. Shah previously served on Oakland University’s Board of Trustees and was a gubernatorial appointee to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board.
