Phoenix — Ware Malcomb announced that two recent projects have been honored with 2014 Best of NAIOP Arizona awards. The expansion of the Macy’s Fulfillment Center in Goodyear, Ariz., for which Ware Malcomb provided architectural design services, won for Industrial Tenant Improvement of the Year. And the new corporate office of Vemma Nutrition Company located in Tempe, Ariz., for which Ware Malcomb provided full service architecture, interior and design services, won for Office Tenant Improvement of the Year (50,000 square feet or less).

The 2014 Best of NAIOP award winners were recently announced at an awards ceremony hosted by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, at the Arizona Biltmore.

“It is always exciting when our designs are recognized in the industry and the community as making a significant impact,” said Kevin Evernham, Regional Director of Ware Malcomb’s Phoenix office. “These were both incredible projects to be a part of, and we look forward to continuing to produce award-winning work for our clients here in Arizona.”

The Macy’s Fulfillment Center project involved a 365,000 square foot addition, bringing the building size to nearly 1 million square feet. Enhancements included 2,500 square feet of tenant improvements and an 80,000 square foot, three-level mezzanine.

Vemma’s new larger office was designed to be a place where the company’s employees could enjoy the fun atmosphere and family friendly culture of the company, while accommodating its recent growth. The space includes a lobby, conference room, reception area, break room, classroom, game lounge, open office seating, office lounge, media room, retail space, retail wall, seating area and studio.

Both projects were managed out of Ware Malcomb’s Phoenix office, led by Evernham. Layton Construction served as the General Contractor for both projects.
