ARCADIS team to lead environmental restoration program at Fort Drum

Fort Drum, N.Y. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Baltimore District awarded the PIKA-MP JV, LLC — a joint venture between ARCADIS and PIKA International, Inc. — a $13 million task order onto its small business Multiple Award Environmental Services (MAES) contract to support remediation and closure of 11 sites at Fort Drum, N.Y. over the next five years.

This project is the third task order on the contract. ARCADIS has a long history over the past 10 years of successfully completing projects for the USACE at Fort Drum and other locations.

ARCADIS will complete environmental restoration work over 10,000 acres in the Pine Barrens along the Black River. Five of the sites include complex groundwater plumes and soil contamination. The process, known as the Installation Restoration Program, is implemented by the Army Environmental Command to identify, evaluate and clean up contamination from past operations on military bases worldwide.

"We've been active partners in the Fort Drum community for more than 18 years. Our long-standing relationship and extension of our work with the USACE is a testament to our ability to deliver the right mix of resources and technical excellence in support of the critical environmental mission," said Heather Polinsky, director of ARCADIS' Federal program. "We are proud to serve the USACE and our ability to keep this work on schedule with the technical excellence the program deserves."
