ISI initiates Envision student credentialing program

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) announced the recent initiation of a student-oriented Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Rating System credentialing program for college and university students. The provisional Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV PV) credential signifies a student’s knowledge of Envision and their commitment to sustainable development in infrastructure investment, both in an academic setting and to potential employers.

The new, ISI web-based training course of six hours is available now on the ISI website to train students interested in a career involving infrastructure sustainability for a significantly reduced fee. It is available to full-time students, recent graduates, and interns with degrees who are not yet fully employed.

“The process for obtaining the Envision ENV PV credential is available to university students at the sophomore level or higher, regardless of academic major or field of study, who satisfy the requirements below,” said ISI Executive Director, Bill Bertera. “The program is also open to recently graduated students holding internships with qualified employers.”

“Individuals who are employed full-time, but also enrolled as part-time students in academic degree programs, are considered practitioners and should apply for the ENV SP credential, rather than the ENV PV,” Bertera added.

ISI Envision PV Requirements:
• Create an account online at www.sustainableinfrastructure.org, and complete the Envision PV application.
• Successfully complete the online training program. This is the same training program undertaken for the ENV SP credential.
• Pass the exam. (This achieves the same knowledge level as the ENV SP professionals).
• Qualified students can apply, complete the training, and take the exam at a reduced rate of $100.

The credential requires passage of a 75-question, open-book exam (also web-based). Once the exam is passed with a grade of 75 percent, the ENV PV credential is good for as long as one year after graduation, after which it is convertible to a full professional credential (ENV SP) upon the recommendation of an employer.
