2009 IBC Structural Provisions Seminar Series

PALATINE, ILL. — S. K. Ghosh Associates Inc. announces an upcoming seminars series: Transitioning from the 2006 IBC to the 2009 IBC Structural Provisions in California and Colorado. In preparation for the transition to the 2009 IBC (effective date January 1, 2011 in California), S.K. Ghosh and Susan Dowty will discuss the major new features of the 2009 IBC structural provisions.

Changes to the structural loading requirements as well as to the special inspection, foundation and material provisions. Topics presented include the following:
1. Updated material standards (with emphasis on ACI 318-08)
2. New structural integrity requirements
3. Revisions to the ASCE 7-05 seismic provisions
4. Revised live loads
5. Revised wall anchorage requirements
6. New alternate all-heights wind design method
7. New rainfall intensity maps
8. New special inspection requirements in Chapter 17
