Pennoni president and CEO presented Environmental Achievement Award

Philadelphia — The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) recognized Pennoni President and CEO Anthony Bartolomeo with its PEC Achievement Award. Bartolomeo was selected as this year’s recipient “for exemplifying PEC’s motto – conservation through cooperation – in all his work to protect the environment on the local, state, and national levels.”

Bartolomeo has more than 30 years of experience in environmental engineering and has become a national and local advocate for environmental issues and regulatory policies, such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund and Hazardous Waste Management programs. He has served on the Governor’s Marcellus Shale Advisory Commission for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is a founding board member of the Philadelphia Global Water Initiative. Additionally, he has served on the PEC board of trustees for a decade.

Celebrating its 45th anniversary, PEC is the leading environmental organization in Pennsylvania and has had an active voice in the passage of environmentally conscious legislation, impacting air, water and land use as well as conservation across the state. The group presented the award to Bartolomeo at its annual Environmental Partnership Dinner on June 17 at Philadelphia’s Crystal Tea Room.
