The Maryland Department of Transportation’s (MDOT’s) Traffic Relief Plan is receiving significant interest from the public-private partnership (P3) industry to add new lanes on I-495 and I-270. MDOT State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) received 27 responses to the initial Request for Information (RFI), which was released in September.
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is holding an international industry forum on Dec. 13 at the BWI Marriott about Maryland’s transformational Traffic Relief Plan (TRP) unveiled mid-September. Registration is required for the forum, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and is open to industry professionals.
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced plans to add four new lanes to I-270, the Capital Beltway (I-495), and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (MD 295). The announcement officially begins the process to solicit the public-private partnership (P3) industry for input and solutions to provide major congestion relief to these key transportation routes.
