Architecture firm Goettsch Partners announced that the firm’s chairman and co-CEO, James Goettsch, FAIA, will be honored with the prestigious lifetime achievement award from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) verified completion of Mjøstårnet, a mixed-use building in Brumunddal, Norway, that now holds the title of the “World’s Tallest Timber Building.” At 85.4 meters, it is also the third-tallest building in Norway and the country’s tallest with mixed functions.
New Land Enterprises, Korb + Associates Architects, and the Milwaukee office of engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti unveiled the design for a proposed 21-story, 410,000 square-foot, mixed-use mass timber tower in downtown Milwaukee.
Thornton Tomasetti announced that Vice Chairman Aine Brazil, P.E., F.SEI, LEED AP, received the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat’s (CTBUH) prestigious Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal for her contributions to the advancement of the built environment.
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) released the full program for the 2018 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference, which will be held in Chicago, May 30-31. Winners in each regional category will then compete for the honor of overall “Best Tall Building Worldwide.”
