Zweig Group publishes mergers & acquisitions guide

Fayetteville, Ark. — Zweig Group released its third publication of 2015, A Guide to Mergers & Acquisitions for A/E/P & Environmental Consulting Firms. A Guide to M&A revises the M&A Cookbook (2007) with the help of author George E. Christodoulo, a senior partner and M&A expert at Lawson & Weitzen LLP in Boston.

In addition to updated information regarding initiating transaction searches and first meetings, weighting corporate and tax considerations, issuing letters of intent, due diligence, closing, integration, and benchmarking success, A Guide to Mergers & Acquisitions for A/E/P & Environmental Consulting Firms also features a new chapter on utilizing private equity firms and employee stock ownership plans to transfer firm ownership.

“A Guide to M&A walks readers through transactions, step-by-step,” said Jamie Claire Kiser, Zweig Group’s director of M&A services and contributor to the publication. “The book begins with an overview of M&A in the A/E/P and environmental industry, which has seen a dramatic increase in the past few years. From there, it outlines how buyers and sellers should prepare for transactions and progresses through the M&A process in a logical and chronological way. Though the Guide doesn’t negate the need for a transaction expert, it gives buyers and sellers an understanding of mergers and acquisitions so that they can be more informed and better prepared as they go through the process.”

A Guide to Mergers & Acquisitions for A/E/P & Environmental Consulting Firms includes insights from industry leaders and experts with its Compass Points, relevant articles from The Zweig Letter; Transaction Briefs, which outline recent A/E/P and environmental transactions; and Q&As, covering valuations, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership.
