WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff providing design for Rhode Island bridges

Providence, R.I. — The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority (RITBA) awarded three on-call professional service contracts to WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff for structural integrity inspections, design and construction services for RITBA-operated bridges.

Under the on-call agreement, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff may be requested to prepare construction documents for repairs and rehabilitation of the Newport/Pell Bridge, Jamestown Bridge, Sakonnet River Bridge, and Mount Hope Bridge.

The firm’s work will include structural integrity inspections of the Newport and Jamestown bridges as well as steel repairs and painting, partial deck replacement and cable inspection for the Newport/Pell Bridge and miscellaneous repairs to the Jamestown Bridge. The firm will also develop and implement an asset management program for all RITBA bridges and may provide resident engineering inspection for construction projects on any of the four bridges or other structures owned by the RITBA.
