UDOT postpones RFQ for $2.6 billion project

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) postponed its release of a request for proposals (RFP) on the $2.6 billion I-15 CORE project slated for Dec. 3. In addition, the industry outreach webinar that was scheduled for Dec. 2 is also postponed until further notice.

Because of decreasing revenues, UDOT announced on Nov. 20 that it was putting on hold a number of projects not yet under contract. I-15 CORE was identified as one of those projects.

UDOT says I-15 CORE is its most significant project and one of the largest in the country. It expands 20 miles of I-15 and replaces or reconstructs 11 interchanges and 55 aging bridges in an important corridor 40 miles south of Salt Lake City in Utah County.
