Timmons Group ranked on Inc. 5000 list

Richmond, Va. — Inc. Magazine has ranked Timmons Group on its Inc. 5000 2016 list. Selected among thousands of companies across the United States, the ranking recognizes the top 5000 fastest growing companies in America based on their one-year growth rate in gross revenue.

Timmons Group, a civil engineering and technology firm, was founded in Richmond, Va., in 1953. Since then, their client-centric, highly entrepreneurial culture expanded their technical capabilities to include transportation, geotechnical engineering, stormwater, water/wastewater, geospatial technology, and economic development. This allowed for geographic expansion nationwide and has provided the opportunity to work on projects across the United States.

Led by President and CEO Brian Bortell, the firm’s successful growth in the past year is a direct result of their focus on expanding service lines to clients, especially in regional office markets. “We have made numerous strategic new hires in Hampton Roads, Raleigh and Northern Virginia, in addition to making several acquisitions,” said Bortell. “We have invested in new technologies that allows us to expand our engineering and technology offerings to clients, in addition to providing them services with a more efficient response time.”

In addition to their ranking on the Inc. 5000 list, Timmons Group was also ranked as a Top 100 Fastest Growing Company by Zweig Group, a 2016 Point of Beginning (POB) Top 100 Companies list, and moved up to #235 from #267 in Engineering News Record’s (ENR) Top 500 Design Firms.
