Technical program available for Conference on Deep Foundations

Hawthorne, N.J. — Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) published the Technical Program for the 42nd Annual Conference on Deep Foundations, Oct. 24-27, 2017, in New Orleans.  It is available at www.deepfoundations2017.org.

A highlight at this year’s conference is an Invited Panel on Risk: A Rational Discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The discussion, led by DFI president Dan Brown, will focus on allocating and mitigating risks on deep foundations projects. The 90-minute session will also be broadcast via a webinar for people who cannot attend the conference. Details are available at www.deepfoundations2017.org.

DFI’s 42nd Annual Conference on Deep Foundations is an opportunity for attendees to network with the largest gathering of practitioners specializing in the deep foundations industry; attend special lectures featuring world-renowned keynote speakers; learn about innovations in design, construction and delivery of deep foundations; become updated on design, construction, QC/QA and risk assessment/management; hear about DFI’s global initiatives and research to promote foundation safety, quality, durability and sustainability.

The conference begins on Tuesday, Oct. 24, with a full day of meetings for DFI’s 18 Technical Committees and three Working Groups. The conference officially opens on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7:00 a.m., and features an Exhibit Hall with 120+ manufacturer and supplier exhibits. Papers will be presented by industry leaders Oct. 25-27.

The event is expected to draw more than 1,000 engineers, contractors, government agency representatives, suppliers, manufacturers and academics involved in the deep foundations industry from around the world to share experiences, exchange ideas and learn about the current state of the practice.
