Prototype of modular precast ‘French Dam’ completed
French Development Enterprises, LLC, Oldcastle Precast, and GEI Consultants announced successful construction and assembly of the first prototype “French Dam” — a modular precast impoundment for construction and retrofit of hydroelectric dams, water control systems and power houses.
Michigan DNR’s Dam Management Grant Program now accepting proposals
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced its Dam Management Grant Program is now open for proposals. The fifth year of this grant opportunity will provide $3.35 million in Fiscal Year 2017 to address Michigan’s failing dam infrastructure through the funding of dam removals and critical repair/maintenance.
Wimbleball Dam earns 2016 ICE South West civil engineering award
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) South West recently awarded England's Wimbleball Dam Grouting Works project its Civil Engineering Project of the Year Award in the over £1 million Re-engineering category. CH2M designed and supervised the project.
