SSSBA partners to host free webinar on steel buried bridges

Washington, D.C. — A free one-hour webinar on “Introduction to Structural Design of Steel Buried Bridges (Non-Seismic)” will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. EDT as part of Infrastructure Week 2017.  The webinar is being held in cooperation with the Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance (SSSBA), National Corrugated Steel Pipe Association (NCSPA), Big R Bridge, CONTECH Engineered Solutions LLC, the American Galvanizers Association (AGA), and the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Presenters include Michael McGough of NCSPA, Joel Hahm of Big R Bridge, and Brian Flint of CONTECH Engineered Solutions LLC.

The webinar will introduce attendees to the benefits of structural design of steel buried bridges, including reduced costs, accelerated bridge construction (ABC) techniques, improved environmental characteristics and sustainability, and reduced maintenance. The webinar will cover sample designs and demonstrate the impacts of varying design inputs and assumptions.
