SCS Engineers— Marc Rogoff, Ph.D., authors book on planning of solid waste recycling facilities and programs

TAMPA, FLA. — Marc Rogoff, PhD, Project Director at SCS Engineers-Tampa, authored a new book about recycling programs and processing, entitled, “Solid Waste Recycling and Processing, 2nd Edition, Planning of Solid Waste Recycling Facilities and Programs.” Published by Elsevier, the book is a resource and guide for those considering or implementing recycling programs. The book is available as a traditional bound copy and as an eBook at the Elsevier International Engineering Site.

Rogoff is the National Partner for SCS Engineers’ Solid Waste Planning Practice, leading company-wide efforts in solid waste planning and waste-to-energy (WTE) programs. He imparts his knowledge of how to meet the range of considerations and challenges facing waste managers to administer solid waste recycling programs such as, the collection and handling of materials, process selection, design, and implementation of programs. The book, a comprehensive guide to engineers, solid waste managers, and decision-makers, provides best practice guidance, explanations of key technologies and an analysis of public policy, economic factors, and environmental trade-offs.

Rogoff has held a number of senior positions in the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and the American Public Works Association (APWA). Following his BS and MS at Cornell University, Rogoff completed a Ph.D. at Michigan State University and an MBA at the University of Tampa. His career has embraced all aspects of solid waste management, and he has managed engineering feasibility study reports for nearly two dozen public works projects, representing $1.2 billion in project financing. His name is well known in the solid waste recycling and WTE fields, where his consultancy work has covered feasibility studies on more than 50 facilities worldwide, operations assessments, and advising on key procurement decisions.
