Program set for WWEMA—s 101st Annual Meeting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representatives of the nation’s leading producers of water and wastewater technologies will convene in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Nov. 12-14, 2009, at the 101st Annual Meeting of the Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA). The theme of this year’s meeting is Looking Beyond the Stimulus: Life After ARRA for Water Infrastructure.

Speakers from all sectors of industry will offer their perspectives on the current economic conditions affecting water infrastructure spending and the outlook for growth in the municipal and industrial water and wastewater sectors. Speakers include:

• Bevin Beaudet, director of the Palm Beach County (Fla.) Water Utilities
• Dick Champion, director of the Independence (Mo.) Water Pollution Control Department
• Tom Decker, vice president of CH2M Hill
• Steve Maxwell, managing director of TechKNOWLEDGEy Strategic Group
• Jayson Myers, president and CEO of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Association
• Dr. Bob Peoples, director of the American Chemistry Society’s Green Chemistry Institute
• Dr. Achar Ramachandra, water treatment advisory for BP Americas Inc.
• Peter Shanaghan, team leader of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Drinking Water State Revolving Fund

Attendees will also take part in roundtable discussions to share ideas and experiences on a host of pertinent topics on the minds of today’s water and wastewater professionals, including trends in e-business social media; what is green and what does it mean; creative ways to cut costs… not heads; and adoption of new technologies.
