Parsons Brinckerhoff renews NYC headquarters lease, opens new office in Pennsylvania

NEW YORK — Parsons Brinckerhoff announced that it has renewed its lease at One Penn Plaza, New York City, maintaining its 127-year history of being a New York City-based firm. With approximately 550 employees, the office will continue to serve as the firm’s global headquarters as well as housing staff from several of the firm’s operating companies. The firm also announced the opening of an office in Lancaster, Pa., to house the majority of its support staff positions. Each lease is for 15 years.

According to President and CEO, George J. Pierson, "New York has been our firm’s headquarters for well over a century, starting with our founder, William Barclay Parsons, the designer of the city’s first subway. We appreciate the vibrancy and diversity that New York City has to offer, and our staff are active members of the communities that make up the New York metropolitan area.

"We look forward to continuing to partner with our New York City clients and colleagues well into the next century," said Pierson.

Parsons Brinckerhoff is currently working on numerous New York area projects, including the 7-Line Extension, Second Avenue Subway, East Side Access, and managing the New York State Department of Transportation’s Statewide Bridge Acceleration Program.

The Lancaster facility is scheduled to be completely operational by mid-April 2013 and, at the outset, will accommodate approximately 150 Parsons Brinckerhoff employees from the IT, accounting, building services, human resources, communications, legal, and purchasing departments. According to Pierson: "As is the case with our 150 offices around the world, I am sure that the employees of our newest facility in Lancaster will quickly become actively engaged in the community. It is the Parsons Brinckerhoff way of working."
