Parsons Brinckerhoff receives national awards for corporate diversity

NEW YORK — Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) has been named 2010 Corporation of the Year by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO). The organization also honored PB with a 2010 Corporate Citizen Award.

The mission of COMTO is to ensure a level playing field and maximum participation in the transportation industry for minority individuals, businesses, and communities of color through advocacy, information sharing, training, education, and professional development.

The Corporation of the Year Award was given in recognition of PB’s many contributions to COMTO and its continued efforts to support diversity. The firm was cited for senior management participation in a joint COMTO/U.S. Department of Transportation initiative to support the development of public transportation in East African nations. PB employees have served on COMTO’s board of directors and national scholarship committee, and have sponsored panels to address diversity issues within various transportation-related fields. The Corporate Citizenship Award acknowledged PB’s long-standing support and sponsorship of COMTO activities.
