Metzler elected ACEC/Greater Pittsburgh president

Pittsburgh — Bryan Metzler, a civil engineering department manager for Merrick & Company’s infrastructure engineering group, was recently elected president of the American Council of Engineering Companies Greater Pittsburgh (ACEC/PA) Chapter during its May membership meeting. His term will run from July 2015 through June 2016. Metzler is also an active member of ACEC’s national environment & energy committee.

Metzler works out of the firm’s Pittsburgh office and is responsible for Merrick’s private development and energy infrastructure services. The group provides civil/site planning, construction document preparation, and construction oversight for land development and energy infrastructure projects. Metzler was previously a co-owner of Turnbull Metzler Design (TMD), a long-standing and highly respected Charlotte design firm that was acquired by Merrick in 2011.

The Council is the oldest and largest business association of engineering companies in the United States, comprising more than 5,000 member firms representing over half a million employees. Its agenda focuses on achieving a balanced public policy approach to meeting America's infrastructure, energy, and environmental requirements.
