Kleinfelder acquires InSite Environmental Inc.

SAN DIEGO — Kleinfelder acquired InSite Environmental Inc., a firm headquartered in Stockton, Calif., that offers a diverse set of environmental planning and permitting services. The transaction closed on May 23, 2011, following a long-standing relationship between the two firms.

“We have had a strong working relationship with InSite over the last 15 years and are thrilled to have them officially join our team,” said Bill Siegel, president and CEO of Kleinfelder. “As part of Kleinfelder, their capabilities and existing client relationships will undoubtedly strengthen our ability to provide turn-key services to our clients by meeting the growing demand for environmental planning and permitting services on the front end of projects.”

Charlie Simpson, president and owner of InSite, added: “We’re excited to become part of a global firm with such extensive capabilities and resources. By joining forces, we’ll be able to offer an even broader range of the quality-centric services our clients have come to expect from us.”

InSite employs seven people in its Stockton, Calif., office. Services include a specialization in environmental impact studies, planning and project management, and permitting for a mixed client base of both public agencies and private-sector firms. InSite will now operate under the Kleinfelder name and will share office space in Kleinfelder’s existing Stockton location.

Kleinfelder has been executing a strategic growth plan since 1992. Kleinfelder’s 2015 goals strive to further demonstrate the company’s role as a trusted adviser to its clients through ongoing training for employees, increased involvement with universities and associations, and a focus on technically challenging projects that strengthen the company’s environmental planning and permitting core competencies: National Environmental Policy Act and state-equivalent studies, transit-oriented developments with land-use linkages, and site-specific restoration and resource management incorporating a watershed/ecosystem approach.
