Kleinfelder acquires Corrigan Consulting Inc.

HOUSTON — Kleinfelder acquired Corrigan Consulting Inc. (CCI), a Houston-based firm specializing in environmental and professional engineering services. The transaction closed on Dec. 30, 2011, following a due diligence process and integration planning between the two firms.

“After taking a close look at CCI’s operations, it quickly became apparent that they are a perfect fit to help Kleinfelder achieve our 2015 strategic direction,” said Donald Pomeroy, senior vice president at Kleinfelder. “CCI will bring additional environmental regulatory compliance services, as well as strong existing relationships with clients in the industrial, municipal, energy and transportation markets. Together, we’ll be better able to serve our collective clients in the Texas region and throughout the world.”

Founded by Gail Corrigan in 1986, CCI’s environmental consulting services have grown steadily to encompass everything from regulatory compliance for air quality, solid waste, and hazardous waste; soil and groundwater assessment and remediation; and environmental planning and permitting. At the time of the acquisition, CCI employed 18 professionals, all of which will be retained and work under the Kleinfelder name out of CCI’s existing Houston office.

“Kleinfelder is a very reputable firm, and we are thrilled about the opportunities that will be presented to us as part of their team,” said Gail Corrigan, president and founder of CCI. “Kleinfelder will provide our clients global resources and a diverse set of services, knowledge and experience. As partners, our combined resources will strengthen our ability to deliver the innovative market solutions our respective clients have come to expect.”

Kleinfelder has been executing a strategic growth plan since 1992, and environmental services have been, and will continue to be an important aspect of overall company growth. With the acquisition of CCI, Kleinfelder is adding a Houston office to its existing five offices in the state of Texas, which include Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, McKinney, Waco, and Corpus Christi.
