JQ Engineering completes civil engineering services for new Toyota Music Factory

Dallas — JQ Engineering provided civil engineering services for the new Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas.  More than 50 companies and consultants were involved in the successful completion of the new entertainment complex, featuring a Live Nation Pavilion with an 8,000-seat capacity, popular retail shops and restaurants, and a 100,000-square-foot office tower.

According to JQ’s Associate Ovi Sipos, P.E., LEED AP, “The Toyota Music Factory was a complex and challenging project and represents a great example of JQ’s work.”

JQ provided full civil engineering services for development of the 18-acre site consisting of amphitheater, restaurants, plaza/promenade, offices and movie theater. Civil engineering services also included upgrading the existing utility infrastructure to support the new development.  In addition, the firm was responsible for the paving and storm drainage system design, stormwater pollution prevention plans, coordination with Dallas County Utility and Reclamation District (DCURD) concerning the existing levee and levee limits adjacent to the site, and coordination with Las Colinas and City of Irving concerning Las Colinas Boulevard improvements and connectivity. JQ also provided structural services for the design and construction of the retaining walls onsite.

“It was an honor to work with such a great team of professionals,” says Sipos. The master developer was the North Carolina-based ARK Group; construction manager, Skanska; and project architect of record, Gensler.
