IECA Region One accepted as Registered Continuing Education Provider

Denver — The International Erosion Control Association Region One (IECA) was approved as a registered education provider with the Registered Continuing Education Provider (RCEP) program, managed by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).

“We’re excited to announce our acceptance as an RCEP provider,” stated Sharan Wilson, IECA executive director. “IECA strives to provide the most exceptional, relevant training to industry professionals. Receiving RCEP approval allows us to deliver additional continuing education Professional Development Hours (PDH).  This is a benefit for IECA members and participants with state engineering boards that recognize RCEP courses.  This registration allows them to meet Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) requirements for license- renewals.”

The RCEP Program is a nationwide registry of continuing education providers that have demonstrated adherence to high‐quality, effective practices in the development and delivery of professional education activities for engineers and surveyors who are architecture, engineering and construction industry professionals.

To be a recognized provider, education must have a clear purpose and relevant learning objectives. Educational activities must be current, technically accurate and developed by individuals qualified with respect to educational activity development and specific content.  Educational activities are to be delivered as live activities and/or distance learning and each activity will be classified as core technical content, business practices or ethics. All courses will include an evaluation to assess whether learning objectives were met and must be 1 PDH in length.

“IECA offers a variety of opportunities to attain continuing education credit,” Wilson stated.  “We’ve looked for additional avenues for our educational offerings to meet more and more needs of members. Being an RCEP provider is the next step in that evolution.”
