Geotechnology, Inc. acquires Hall, Blake & Associates

ST. LOUIS — Geotechnology, Inc. purchased substantially all of the assets of Hall, Blake & Associates (HBA), a geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and drilling firm based in Memphis, Tenn. Geotechnology expects to expand services in the Memphis area through the three service lines both companies already share, as well as the environmental, geophysical, and non-destructive testing capabilities Geotechnology can add.

“I’m excited to welcome the Hall, Blake & Associates team to the Geotechnology, Inc. family,” said Ed Alizadeh, PE, ESQ., President and CEO, Geotechnology, Inc. “ It’s an ideal fit as Geotechnology offers many new resources and benefits to HBA, and in turn the HBA team brings incredible technical expertise, a great reputation and immense growth opportunity to the company.”

Geotechnology operates from offices in Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas, which will allow the firm to better support HBA physically and administratively. HBA has an excellent reputation in the Western Tennessee, Northeastern Arkansas and Northern Mississippi regions, and brings a strong backlog of work to the new firm, including a substantial number of Tennessee Department of Transportation geotechnical and materials testing projects, Geotechnology said.

“Becoming a part of Geotechnology is clearly a great move for HBA and our customers,” said Pat Donovan, PE, HBA branch manager. “In addition to the firm’s strong technical resources and business sense, Geotechnology’s commitment to make substantial investments in equipment upgrades and new services will certainly benefit our loyal customers.”

HBA is compromised of 30 employees, 27 of whom will be retained including HBA Principals Pat Donovan, Ashraf Elsayed, and Joe Hall. HBA will first operate as “Hall Blake & Associates, a Division of Geotechnology, Inc.” and then fully transition into Geotechnology, Inc. within 12 to 18 months.
